Xiaomi Mi 11X 5G Smartphone Confirmed for September, Company Set to Launch More Phones in October
Xiaomi has confirmed the Mi 11X 5G smartphone, which will succeed the Mi Mix 3, that will likely come with Qualcomm's latest and greatest Snapdragon 855 SoC. The smartphone is expected to launch as the first Android-powered smartphone to launch with Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 855 SoC, which was announced as a consumer-focused mobile platform alongside the Snapdragon 855 SoC for laptops and 5G smartphones in the previous week at Qualcomm's annual Snapdragon Technology Summit. Xiaomi has also confirmed it will launch the Mi Mix 3 successor in October. It will likely to launch as the Mi Mix 3S with Android Pie. The company will be launching a bunch of other devices this year as well. The company also confirmed that the Mi MIX 3 successor will have a 36W fast charger and a double pressure sensitive feature. This could allow the user to double the pressure sensitivity on the camera or to use it as a proximity sensor. The company also confirmed that its MIUI 10 Global ROM will be updated to Android 9 Pie in November.
The company has revealed the specifications and features of its upcoming flagship Mi 11X smartphone that will succeed the Mi Mix 3. The upcoming handset is said to feature a 6.41-inch full-HD+ display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a 91 percent screen-to-body ratio. This means that the Mi 11X will have a very thin chin compared to the Mi Mix 3. The notch will house a 19-megapixel front camera, the earpiece and the sensors. The handset will also have a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 rear camera sensor and a 12-megapixel wide-angle sensor at the back. Apart from this, it will feature a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and Qualcomm's top-of-the-line Snapdragon 855 SoC. It will be powered by a 3700mAh battery and will sport support for 6.7W fast charging.
The company confirmed that it will launch the Mi Mix 3 successor in October and that it will be followed by the Mi Mix 3S. Xiaomi revealed that the handset will sport a curved 2.5D glass body and will be available in Black, Blue, Red and White colour options. The rear will also feature a curved 2.5D glass panel, which would be the first time that Xiaomi will launch such a design on the rear panel of any of its phones. Xiaomi also confirmed that the handset will come with support for 6.7W fast charging that is claimed to give about 2 hours of talk time with the 36W fast charger. However, the company did not mention whether the handset will support wireless charging.
Interestingly, the Mi Mix 3 successor will not support wireless charging or USB Type-C as the company confirmed that it will stick to the company's own magnetic Type-C back panel for charging the handset. The company confirmed that it will offer a 3700mAh battery with support for Qualcomm's Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging. The battery will support fast charging as well.
