Samsung Galaxy A52 review

It’s been a while since Samsung launched the Galaxy A-series in India. The Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A50 were introduced in the last couple of months and they’re priced at ₹21,990 and ₹29,990 respectively. As for the Galaxy A52, it’s positioned between the two models and is priced at ₹19,990 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant, while the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant will cost ₹22,990.

The Samsung Galaxy A52 competes with the likes of the Nokia 6.1 Plus and Realme 2 Pro that both come with a similar feature-set. The latter has a better camera at the back, but it comes with a smaller 6-inch display that has a 18:9 aspect ratio.

The differences between the two phones are that the Realme 2 Pro runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and is backed by a 3,500mAh battery, whereas the Nokia 6.1 Plus runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and is powered by a slightly bigger 3,060mAh battery. Both phones have a display resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels and feature a waterdrop-style notch above the display, as well as, 19:9 aspect ratio.

The Realme 2 Pro has a wide range of connectivity options and packs a large 4230mAh battery that should easily last a day on moderate to heavy usage. However, the Nokia 6.1 Plus, on the other hand, has an equally long 4230mAh battery that can keep the phone running for a day or two on heavy usage, but a day on medium to light usage is a bit unrealistic.

Both the phones support fast charging, as well as, offers microSD card support. The Nokia 6.1 Plus also has a smaller 3310 mAh battery compared to the Realme 2 Pro’s bigger 4,230mAh battery.

The Realme 2 Pro gets a vertically stacked 16MP + 2MP dual-rear camera setup while the Nokia 6.1 Plus has a 16MP + 5MP dual-rear camera setup. Both the phones offer a fingerprint sensor on the back and come with support for face unlock. The Galaxy A52 has a single 16MP rear camera, which is sufficient for the price but a recent update has removed the secondary depth sensing camera that gives the phone its name.
