    Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 vs Redmi Note 6 Pro: Which device should you buy?



    Xiaomi’s upcoming Redmi Note 7 will be launched in China on February 22. It will go on sale on the next day, but at a price point much lower than its predecessor. The smartphone’s Redmi Note 6 Pro successor was launched last year in India as the Redmi Note 6 Pro. In this article, we compare the specifications of the Redmi Note 7 and the Redmi Note 6 Pro to help you make the right decision between the two devices.

    The Redmi Note 7 sports a waterdrop-notched display, which has thin bezels and a bottom chin. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 processor, which is paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM. The phone has a dual rear camera setup with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary depth sensor. On the front, it has a 13-megapixel selfie camera with LED flash and AI features.



    The phone has a back-mounted fingerprint scanner, but there’s no IP rating for water or dust resistance. In India, the phone has dual cameras with a 12-megapixel primary sensor with a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. The Redmi Note 7 comes with 64GB of internal storage, which is expandable via microSD card in a hybrid dual-SIM configuration.



    The Redmi Note 6 Pro sports a 6.26-inch full-HD+ display with a resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels. It is powered by the Snapdragon 636 processor paired with Adreno 509 GPU and 6GB of RAM. The phone offers 128GB of onboard storage and expandable storage up to 256GB via a microSD card.



    It comes with a dual rear camera setup with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. On the front, the phone sports a 20-megapixel Sony IMX576 sensor with LED flash and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. The Redmi Note 6 Pro has a vertically aligned dual-camera setup on the back with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor.



    The phone has a 16-megapixel selfie camera with AI face unlock. It comes with 64GB of internal storage that’s expandable via microSD card in a hybrid dual-SIM configuration. Connectivity options on the Redmi Note 6 Pro include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

    Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 7 runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 10, and it has been certified by the Chinese government as being safe for use on networks, despite its imminent launch. It will likely be the first Xiaomi.
